How to move through Transitions without Losing Yourself

Transitions are strange. One moment, you feel like you’ve got your footing, and the next, the ground shifts. Whether it’s a new job, starting or ending a relationship, or just changing something about your daily routine, transitions have a big impact on us - physically and mentally. 


Change shakes us, even when it’s for the better. It forces us to face the unknown. It makes us feel unsettled. Our brain releases cortisol, the stress hormone. 


But, transitions are also good. They help us grow. They’re the messy middle ground between who we were and who we’re becoming. 


Without change, we stay stuck in patterns that we may no longer need. If we never had to find our way through the changes in our lives, we would never get to discover what else we’re capable of.


This week, as we walk through Holy Week, we’re reminded of the most powerful transition of all—Easter. The journey from Good Friday to Resurrection Sunday is the ultimate example of transformation. From grief to hope. From death to life. From despair to redemption.

It didn’t come easy. It came through pain, loss, silence, and waiting. But Easter shows us that even the darkest transitions carry the promise of something more. Something new. Something sacred.


If you're going through a difficult change right now, let this week be a reminder: the hard part isn’t the end of the story. Something beautiful is being made new—maybe quietly, maybe slowly—but surely.


As you move through transitions, be kind to yourself. Trust that on the other side, there’s a version of you that’s stronger, wiser, and more connected to your true self than ever before.
